So excited! That's odd since TAs use the same booking engine so the pricing would be exactly the same....the price you get from a TA will be the same as what celebrity has listed on their site. The only time you might catch a slight difference with a TA is if they booked a group on the cruise and might be able to offer the cabin a slightly different rate than individual bookings. CrusieToy Posted April 15, 2013 #28 Share Posted April 15, 2013 We have booked our past two cruises with a travel agent and are ready to book our third cruise. We are wondering what the advantages are to book with a travel agent, with an Internet agency, or directly with Celebrity. We would appreciate any insights anyone might have. we use an agent because we get an OBC. They are also and excellent company to deal with
smtcan Posted April 15, 2013 #29 Share Posted April 15, 2013 The last cruise we took was booked through a bricks & mortar Canadian TA, because we were travelling with a group of friends. We did not find the service to be of any benefit to us. The pre and post cruise arrangements he made were cruise line standard and very expensive. We made our own flight and hotel arrangements and saved a lot of money. The others in the group were fairly inexperienced travellers and appreciated the hand holding aspect. This was not a Celebrity cruise, but I think the situation would have been the same if it was. We usually book directly with the cruise line then transfer to an online TA in the US. This gives us control of our booking until it is the way we want it, then we get perks from the TA. It is not quite as good since we have to transfer in 60 days, but it still works for us.
