Yeti72 Posted April 16, 2013 #1 Share Posted April 16, 2013 Having only ever done two night mini cruises in the past and parked my own car, how do things work if your departure terminals are different from your arrival?. We are are on Azura departing on the 24 May leaving the Southampton's Ocean terminal, but arrive back to the Mayflower terminal. Will the car be taken over to our return terminal or do we get taken back to our departure terminal to pick it up?
BrianI Posted April 16, 2013 #2 Share Posted April 16, 2013 If you are using CPS, then your car will be waiting for you at the terminal you return to. Have done this several times and its no problem Brian
terry99 Posted April 17, 2013 #3 Share Posted April 17, 2013 Has happened to us just once. On that occasion, unlike Brian, we had to queue for coaches to take us across to the original terminal. Luggage was stowed below on the coach. A quick journey, and then joined the queue to retrieve car key. All well organised, but obviously took longer than normal. (I believe that NORMAL practise is for CPS to drive cars to arrival terminal. Not sure why our experience was different!!) Terry
BrianI Posted April 17, 2013 #4 Share Posted April 17, 2013 Terry, There have been a few occasions when there has been a last minute terminal change due to weather. Notably this occurs at Ocean terminal where the larger ships cannot dock when there are high cross winds. When this happens, the cars will be in the wrong place. Thejuggler Posted April 17, 2013 #5 Share Posted April 17, 2013 Last year we left from QEII and arrived back at Mayflower. No issues over the car as it is moved from the terminal car parks to other car parks for your trip and then driven to the terminal where the ship docks.
