guidance lady Posted April 16, 2013 #1 Share Posted April 16, 2013 We are on the Norwegian Fjords cruise this July 5. Our Celebrity Infinity ship stops in Stavanger from 11 AM to 6PM, they only offer 3 tours, City Sightseeing with Iron Age Farm, Stavanger- oil capital of Norway, and City sightseeing and Utstein Monastery. Any recommendations from previous cruisers? Any other sites to see? Thanks for your help
Netty13 Posted April 16, 2013 #2 Share Posted April 16, 2013 We're going to Norway in May and I booked a sightseeing tour on http://www.rodne.no If you look at their website, it's the 'Lysefjord and the Pulpit Rock's tour. Netty13 Posted April 16, 2013 #4 Share Posted April 16, 2013 We've done the same! :D It sounds great to me and is not as expensive as the cruise excursions ;) Gesendet von meinem GT-I9100 mit Tapatalk
guidance lady Posted April 16, 2013 Author #5 Share Posted April 16, 2013 Thank you, I will look it up. Pulpit Rock does not seem doable, since the hike alone is 3 to 4 hours and getting there another hour or so. The ship is only there for 6 hours. There is a 3 hour boat trip from Stavanger to the Lysefjord and you see Pulpit Rock from beneath... this is what we're planning on doing. The view from the top looks stunning, but as you say, there's not enough time when the ship is only in port for a few hours.

I preferred that from hiking ;) Gesendet von meinem GT-I9100 mit Tapatalk
emckeeve Posted April 16, 2013 #8 Share Posted April 16, 2013 We wanted to hike it, but even though we're in port for 9 hours, it was too risky time wise. So we're doing the same 3 hour boat trip with Rodne and might also book a helicopter to FLY over it afterwards.

Sounds interesting :)

I am still researching but one that has been recommended is: http://www.regionstavanger.com/en/Activities/Sightseeings-and-day-cruises/?TLp=707048&Fonnafly-Sightseeing-with-helicopter=
