lvcrzn Posted April 20, 2013 #1 Share Posted April 20, 2013 What method of payment is used for the Washer and Dryer on the Dream? I read a post that indicated "coin" operated. How would that work if you had coins from different countries? I assumed that the plastic room (ID) card was used. We are leaving within the week; please help me out with the correct answer so that I can gather some coins (if needed) before we leave. :confused

Talex831 Posted April 20, 2013 #3 Share Posted April 20, 2013 KTTW card. It is a little confusing at first. Make sure you pay for the machine you are using.
moki'smommy Posted April 20, 2013 #4 Share Posted April 20, 2013 ALL DCL ships now use the card swipe system (no more coins!). As above, make sure the arrow points to the machine you are using. If you have any problems, talk to Guest Services and they will make the finances right.

texasgirl29 Posted April 24, 2013 #6 Share Posted April 24, 2013 Be sure to take you own laundry soap and dryer sheets!
moki'smommy Posted April 24, 2013 #7 Share Posted April 24, 2013 They do sell laundry products (the machines also work on card swipe), but it is much cheaper to bring your own.
Rare Scrapnana Posted April 25, 2013 #8 Share Posted April 25, 2013 The washers are European front loaders and only have settings of 30 and 40 degrees Celsius. I wash everything in cold water but my clothes all survived one washing on the 30 degree (86 F) setting. Be careful if you have any delicates. You might want to wash those by hand. thatjenchick Posted May 10, 2013 #9 Share Posted May 10, 2013 What's the cost per load?
moki'smommy Posted May 11, 2013 #10 Share Posted May 11, 2013 What's the cost per load? $2 wash, $2 dry, $1 per product purchased (some used to be 75 cents, but I think all have now increased). ALL ships have been upgraded to the card swipe system (no more quarters). Wash takes about 27 minutes, dry cycle is about an hour. There are timers on each machine.
