How long is the actual train ride on the White Pass Railway excursion???

We are going on Royal Caribbean and see their basic train ride is $120. How long is the actual train ride and what does the rest of the excursion include?

Is the Chilkoot tours excursion the same as the Royal excursion??

For which excursion? There are many combos. If you do round trip train only, you are on the train 3.5 hours. If you do train one way then bus (either into the Yukon or directly back to Skagway, possibly with stops for suspension bridge, etc.) then the train portion is about 1 hour 45 minutes. If you do the Lake Bennett trip, you are on the train a total of 4 hours. (I'm getting these numbers from the Princess excursion listings, but it's the same train, so times would be the same for RCI.)

 

Read excursion descriptions carefully to find out exactly what you are getting... and if that's what you want.

The basic excursion is RT to white pass summit - the distance is approx. 20 mi each way and the time is approx. 3.5 Hrs.

 

Other tours involve one way train rides to either Fraser (28 mi 1.75 hrs.) or Carcross (via Bennett) 68 mi and 6hrs (including 1+hr for lunch in Bennett). Return from Fraser or Carcross is via motorcoach. These combo tours can last as long as 8+hrs.

No a Chilkoot tour is NOT the same as anything offered by RCI.

 

You need to look at the tours, and read the details. They list the times, and if the train is round trip or one way. The trip will ALWAYS be a one way train, if anything else is mentioned, "city", "suspension bridge" etc.
