We are currently leaving Messina having boarded in Genoa 2 days ago and visiting Naples yesterday.

 

The ship is beautiful inside and out. It is immaculately clean and new.

How is the service onboard.

 

Previous reviews have reported "teething" problems.

No issues so far. Lots of staff. Not as friendly as royal Caribbean but helpful.

 

We have had dinner in both mdr and buffet. Buffet is very repetitive and boring. Mdr is a 7 course affair.

The pools are all sea water. The indoor and the garden pool are heated. The main pool is not. The kids are allowed to roam free and despite objections by staff parents let them jump in and out as they please

The buffet is very repetitive. There is an ethnic station hidden away at the far end on the right as you go to the back/aft of the ship. The tables near the aft tend to be empty with the chaos on the main part of the buffet area

Opted for the allegrissimo and have used it quite a lot for drinks and ice cream and hot drinks.

Really not sure what has changed but the ship has become awful to be on side Barcelona.

 

The pools are no longer heated.

 

The staff have become unfriendly and the service has deteriorated rapidly.

 

The Italians have become rowdy and uncontrollable. Running in the buffets. Have been knocked many times by screaming adults.

 

It feels like a different ship to the one we boarded and enjoyed so much until the sailing day from Tunisia to Barcelona. Almost happy to get off tomorrow!

We are on the Prezosia on Sunday in Genoa......What are the times of the dinner sittings - we have opted for the later seating but am unsure of time is it 9.00?? Also what days are the gala nights on?

 

Would be gratefull of any other usefull information.

Second seating is 930. Gala nights are messina and Barcelona.

 

There are 3 types of evenings - gala, informal- jacket and trousers and shirt and casual.

 

Only 50% bothered though.

looking at this cruise for next year. However a colleague cruised with them last year and said the italians and the Germans do not queue. they push in at the buffet and don't wait their turn on the tenders. did you find this. only my pet hate is people that do not wait their turn, being english I was born queueing and find it so rude if people don't. Don't want to spend the week stressed. Really liked the itinerary but can't find a similar one on another cruise line

I am very open minded and was aware of these issues before going. But after a few days it became unbearable. Not only do they push and shove they run around while eating with their hands and then picking up food.

 

Never did we watch them wash their hands in the toilets and the tissue paper bins were empty with the tissues full (never used).

 

In comparison royal Caribbean was much better and less stressful

If you do go avoid genoa airport like the plague. Just got back from there. Took 2 hours to check in and 3 lane changes. Then another half hour queue at passport control before the gate. Utter chaos.
