Best time to see color change in leaves

Recommended Posts

Booking a cruise on the Legend in October 2014. I have two cruises that I am looking at. October 3 for 10 nights or Oct 13 for 11 nights. Cruises leave out of Quebec City and return to Quebec City.

I know it depends on weather conditions, but trying to pick the cruise that has higher odds of seeing the leaf color change.

Any suggestions?

Here's some info about peak foliage times in New England and Canada:

You'd probably have better luck seeing peak New England foliage on the October 13 cruise - mid-October is generally peak for Maine coast.

Some of the Canadian maritimes can peak later than the Maine coast. On a cruise last year in the second half of October, Portland and Bar Harbor were past peak, but Cape Breton, Nova Scotia was still pretty a few days later.
