ST PETERSBURG 2 day Celebrity excursion-HELP

I know a lot of folks say to take the private tours, but last summer on the Infinity, we took their two day tour. We couldn't have had a better time. We were the first tour both mornings so the crowds weren't there. You are given headsets, so you can wander around within a small distance. The lunches were traditional Russian food, one day there was local entertainment. The bus was comfortable. If anything to complain about, it was there wasn't enough shopping time! Many people that we spoke to that took private tours didn't have the same, wonderful experiences that we had. Their vans were small, lunch didn't happen, lines were long.... No matter who you tour with, the sights will be beautiful!

Cheers!

I would rather be on a tour with a small group than a bus. Our private tour with TJ was comfortable and wonderful. We did have a traditional Russian food for lunch. We had headsets. We had any shopping time we wanted. There were no long lines. On our cruise we did most of the ports ourself except St. Petersburg, and Berlin. Did Berlin with TJ travel too. Berlin was a bus. Also did an optional evening St. Petersburg tour with a vodka tasting with TJ.

I have an album from the cruise at:

From DC to Amsterdam on KLM. Nice airline. Had a female pilot for the first time on the return trip.

For St. Petersburg you can see in the pictures the van and guide.

We have our tickets for the TJ tour. Was originally told we would have a group name for our particular group so we could identify the transport when we left the ship. Have had no word about this, despite several emails enquiring. Are the tickets sufficient?

The tickets are sufficient but you should have recieved a confirmation letter with the name of your group at the top. The letter is not that important. It is only info for you. It does give you the instructions for immigration and itinerary of your tour. When you get off the ship you give Russian Immigration your tickets, passport and the immigration card which Celebrity will place in your cabin. The tickets are for immigration to see. Don't forget the tickets. Immigration has to see them. The tickets are to get you thru immigration. After your passport is stamped and you get thru there will be someone outside immigration with a TJ Travel sign. It won't have group names. The greeter with the sign has a list by individuals names and will direct you to the correct van for your van if there more than one group booked with TJ, which is likely.
