ShipsandDipper Posted July 13, 2013 #1 Share Posted July 13, 2013 I'm wondering if in Riga, it would be best to do some sort of walking tour to get the most out of viewing the Art Nouveau buildings. Can anyone recommend a walking tour, or direct me to a good written tour that we could follow ourselves? Thank you.
Pearl64 Posted July 13, 2013 #2 Share Posted July 13, 2013 That was exactly what we did in 2010 when we stopped in Riga. I think it was in Lonely Planet Lativa book that had a walking tour. Perhaps your library has a copy. You could just get those pages--a couple--copied instead of purchasing the book. It was fairly easy to follow. We literally walked off the ship and went to the Resistance(may be another name) Museum--very interesting. The buildings were fantastic. We had a cappuccino in a little shop--had a design on top plus free bathrooms! Then we wandered back to the ship. Very cheap port stop and we really loved it. Enjoy. ShipsandDipper Posted July 14, 2013 Author #3 Share Posted July 14, 2013 Thank you so much! I happened to be going to the library anyway so while I was there I picked up the Lonely Planet and I think that tour will suit us very well. I really appreciate your response.
