Charleston Parking ?

Recommended Posts

[B]I just returned from a 5-day cruise aboard the Fantasy. Parking was $85 and our car was parked inside a warehouse across the street from the terminal. It's free if you have a handicap tag!

So $17 a day? That's not to bad.

Are you driving in the day before? If so, I would say get a hotel that offers cruise-n-park. There are lots of hotels that offer cruise-n-park options, some with shuttles, some not. Quite a few of them in the Mt. Pleasant area. You can check this link: http://www.charlestoncvb.com/visitors/special_offers/packages/stay/

Last time on Fantasy we did the Best Western Mt. Pleasant, car was left in the parking area in the front just out side the entrance for the week, no problems. The hotel didn't have a shuttle, but the lady at the front desk called Charleston Green Taxi for us, I believe it was $12 to drive us to the port and was easy to grab a taxi back coming off the ship.

That close you could drive from Surfside the morning of the cruise and use the parking at the pier if you chose - whatever you feel comfortable doing. Our drive is a bit farther :) Congrats on your wedding!

Thank you!!
We have a friend that lives in Charleston and could leave our car at her house but we don't want to make them cut their day short in surf side beach to drive back and take us to the cruise port. We were thinking that if we are paying for a hotel room we might as well drive in and do the stay and park if we already were going to pay for a room why pay for a room and to park the car

My thoughts exactly! Can use that $$ for more fun stuff :D:D

Enjoy your first cruise, and get ready to get hooked! Walked off our first cruise years ago and within a month booked one for the following year. We'll be on the Fantasy for the second time just a couple weeks after you all. If there is a band playing at the 20th Century Bar outside the casino, that is always a fun spot where folks gather.

Can someone tell me how far it is from the port to the airport? We have a late flight out after our cruise and I am debating weather or not to take Carnival's transportation or take a taxi. Also, if we take a taxi, any idea of what the fare would be ?
