MSY to NOLA Port

Anyone ever just hop on the Jet E2 bus at MSY and take it to NOLA Central Business District (Tulane and Loyolla intersection) which is just a block or two from the Canal Street Streetcar in order to get to the port? Seems too easy and cheap to be real.

The last I heard, that line only runs on weekdays.

And no luggage on streetcars!!! Cab from the airport to the pier for two is a flat $33-35, best way to go in IMHO. Usually about 20-30 minute drive.

Not an option with bags or on weekends. Taxis are set rates from the airport to the terminal. It's approx. a 30 min. ride.

This really is a valid question for any city other than New Orleans. I know it sounds doable based on what can be done in other cities but the public transportation (for people with luggage) in New Orleans is not an option for tourists unless you have no more than a backpack and purse. If you decide to ride the street cars while here (to sightsee and because they are beautiful), you will understand as soon as you step onto one. They are old, historic, and where designed for people "back in day" to get to and from the different neighborhoods, to shop, etc.
