antipodean99 Posted August 19, 2013 #1 Share Posted August 19, 2013 Hello, we have a question regarding US immigration procedures in Hawaii. our ship - Celebr Solstice - arrives in HNL on 27 Apr but the last night is in port so the question is, when do we go through the immigration with our luggage if the bags stay on the ship until 28 Apr thks
Dizziedi Posted August 19, 2013 #2 Share Posted August 19, 2013 They will deliver the usual Immigration forms to your cabin a day or two prior to arriving. Once the ship does arrive, they will then bring Immigration on and everyone will go through immigration prior to being able to get off the ship. They usually do it deck by deck (highest to lowest). The following day when you are actually disembarking, Customs is pretty much the same as here - pick up your bag and if you have anything to declare, then declare:) Cheers Di
parko Posted August 19, 2013 #3 Share Posted August 19, 2013 We did same cruise in April this year on the Solstice. All US immigration was done in Maui (first US port) and it was a complete shambles. Only one US official at first instead of nine. Immigration queues stretched the whole length of the ship. Some paxs didn't get off the ship in Maui till lunch time. So there should not be a problem in Honolulu as all US documentation already completed. We loved the cruise, especially Bora Bora/Moorea. Enjoy your cruise.:)

MicCanberra Posted August 20, 2013 #5 Share Posted August 20, 2013 Hopefully the will have learnt (from last time) and the process may be a bit smoother as Honolulu is a docked port rather than a tender port like Maui.:D
