ro Posted August 25, 2013 #1 Share Posted August 25, 2013 Hi all, I'm hoping CC people will come through, as they've always done. We're going to be on Star RT L.A./Hawaii with the family. We have mini suites, but one son has 5 in his family; the 2 parents and 6-, 8-, and 11-year olds. Will Princess allow the 5 in one room and is the foldout loveseat the size of a twin bed or maybe a bit bigger? And where does the top bunk fold out? thanks in advance for your help
Bogof1 Posted August 25, 2013 #2 Share Posted August 25, 2013 I think the max is 4 / room may be wrong, hope so for your son.! The sofa in mini suite is only a single bed I do believe
Rare Essiesmom Posted August 25, 2013 #3 Share Posted August 25, 2013 The sofa in a mini-suite folds out to a twin bed. The pullman bunk is above it. The Coast guard regulations forbid ships built after 2000 to put more people in a cabin than it was built for. Since Star was launched in 2002, they will not allow five in any mini. This is what a mini-suite looks like with the extra beds open: Pictures of a different mini without the beds open: EM
ro Posted August 25, 2013 Author #4 Share Posted August 25, 2013 thanks 'essiesmom' for such a complete answer; the photo was really helpful. Unfortunately, it isn't the answer I was hoping for :-( so, I guess we (grandparents) will have one of the children in our cabin. thanks again

Not all of them are. Maritime regulations require that no more than the number of passengers rated in a cabin can be booked in that cabin so make sure the cabin says four people. The fifth will have to be booked in your cabin. Once onboard, you can do pretty much anything you want. If the parents want the fifth sleeping in their cabin and they don't mind the child camping on the floor or sharing a bed, that can be done.
