Ashdod tour tyo Jerusalem

Recommended Posts

Hi all yesterday onboard we got a tour update for next week. The ship will be in Rhodes Tuesday Wed at sea THURSDAY HAFIA (6 am - 17.00) and FRIDAY ASHDOD ( 9.00-1700) I think this change will now result in us having to cancel our tour ???? as now the safety net of the ship overnighting in Asdod is gone and also the time in Port.

what a shame for you guys

haifa is quite a pretty town shops/coffee shops...bit of a hike for dead sea or jerusalem tho

early sailing from ashdod would mean jerusalem will be a bit of a whistlestop too

wonder what has prompted the change of plan?

So why has the itinery changed again, someone must know!Thomson messing us up a bit Reason for cruise in the first instance was see pyramids: No cant do that too risky. then booked a long day trip in Israel knowing if held up cruise liner was staying in dock over night : No not doing that any more , this now may may hinder our planned day trip as day trip may over run or if delayed will miss boat departure at 7 pm. We arranged trip with others on board but arranged privately from Thomson . Await group consideration to our decision to still go or not. We can understand dangers if any to alter destinations but 2 changes in a number of days, people will feel uneasy at booking any thing in light of this happening. Maybe it is perhaps of cost to dock overnight and would rather move on to next port and save money ? Just hope Syria does not give us a headache next week with Mr Obama, we surely then will then on a mystery cruise somewhere!!

I'm sorry for you guys

but

yep I agree

in places such as this when there is a higher than average chance that things may not go to plan.....it might be best to consider booking a ships shorex and let them have all the headaches

it is not unheard of that there can be last minute changes of plan when travelling on a cruise, especially more so in this region...and we have known about the troubles in this region for months

theres nothing that can be done about last minute drop of the hat itinerary changes....it happens....its irritating...but, its in the terms and conditions

its also well documented that when in this region that most shore trips will cover long distances, road checkpoints, sometimes poor road conditions and much formalities

ships tours on thoms are not that much more expensive....they are well run with english speaking guides and you will be safe and secure that the ship wont leave without you......can you imagine being stranded somewhere like this? Trying to continue your journey alone to catch up with the ship

I wouldn't want to risk my security for a few £'s saving

Good job you are going on the 16th. Some changes on 30th.

In yesterday's Daily Mirror, on travel late deals, "Marmaris, Turkey - 7 night Aegean and Holy Land Cruise, on Thomson Celebration, from £618 pp, (saves £820 per couple) based on 2 sharing on f/b and flying on Sept 30th, from Bournemouth, Bristol or Garwick. Ship calls at Rhodes; Ashdod, Israel; Larnaca, Cyprus; and Alanya, Turkey."

Have a great cruise, wherever you go!!

Gill
