We just booked our trip departing Baltimore next year. Looking for suggestions/do's/dont's in Nassau and Freeport. Most important, what's the easiest way to move around if we don't take Carnival's excursions? Must see in both islands?

I understand the bus system is pretty efficient in Nassau and inexpensive but there is always a cab. I have heard of people arranging for an island tour directly with a cab driver, just make sure you settle on a price first and that the price includes bringing you back to the pier. We did the Dolphin Encounter at Freeport and loved it but you can only book that through the ship. The downtown area in Freeport is about a 20-30 mintues ride from the port.
