Where to go: Western, Eastern or Southern Caribbean?

If you can arrange the time and price, Emerald Princess alternates Eastern and Southern 10 day cruises. The majority of the ports have good snorkeling and diving. A B2B is the perfect sampling.

 

Caribbean Princess sails a seven day Western Caribbean. All three ports, Cozumel, Belize and Roatan have excellent snorkeling and diving.

If you are not diving ... Cozumel doesn't really have a lot to offer except for a gateway to Tulum.

San Juan ... Awesome.

 

Tulum requires 5 hours travel time.

 

IMNSHO Xcaret is a better option with 3 1/2 hours travel and numerous activitiesl.

 

Both require the ferry to Playa del Carman.

If you can only do a 7 day cruise, start with Western Caribbean. Jamaica isn't very safe, so stick with Princess excursions, but it's gorgeous! The Western is a good intro. to the Caribbean.

 

If you can do a 10 day cruise, do the Emerald Princess 10 day itinerary that includes the very best of the Caribbean, St. Lucia and Barbados!

 

Really, there's no bad day in the Caribbean, but these are my recommendations.
