Mrs CruisinCritter Posted October 17, 2013 #26 Share Posted October 17, 2013 I'm taking my first solo (not single) cruise in December. I'm so nervous, but reading all of the comments here is really helping with my anxiety about the trip. My hubby bought this cruise as a surprise for me because we've had a lot of stress lately (he had to work a lot the last several months on a big project for work, just finished grad school, new medical problems for me and now we are trying to buy our first house) so he thought I could use a break. I'm a stay at home mom and I rarely go anywhere without our 2 year old in tow and never by myself so this should be a relaxing trip for me. I just started school again in September so I will have school work and a book to keep me busy while I have a few drinks and watch the water go by. :)
MrFunInTheSun Posted October 17, 2013 #27 Share Posted October 17, 2013 Cruising solo is the best. It's actually become my favorite way to cruise now. You've got so much freedom to do as much or as little as you want. Below are reviews I did all traveling solo! I've got two more solo cruises booked this year. Have a great cruise! http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=1734869 http:///Uhttp://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=1826302 http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=1881918 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk - Please excuse any errors. Brendako Posted October 17, 2013 #28 Share Posted October 17, 2013 I just booked a 5 night cruise on the Ecstasy and I am going alone!!! My husband has no vacation time and I really needed a vacation so I went for it. I now confess I am feeling a bit anxious but excited for this adventure. I have posted on the roll call. I am looking for any tips for a solo traveler. This is my first time on Carnival. Wish me luck all. I am going solo on a cruise this Sunday!! Looking forward to it!! matondo Posted October 17, 2013 Author #29 Share Posted October 17, 2013 Keep the comments coming! My husband was so supportive of me doing this. My daughter who just graduated from college and landed a job 400 miles from home and moved away from home thinks I am crazy. I told her I was not alone. I am going to bring my Nook for sure. Need to get some more books downloaded. Whenever I start getting anxious about doing this alone I come back and read this thread. Thank you everyone!!!
