Suggestions Needed Pls. for Hotels Near Cape Liberty

Hi everyone, We are driving down on Sept. 22nd from Ontario, Canada for our cruise on Sept. 23rd on the Voyager. Any suggestions for where to stay would be greatly appreciated.We obviously do not know the area at all and have no idea of where to stay, so any help would be great. I have heard that staying near the Newark airport is good? But have also heard that it can be busy there, we have no hotel names to even go by.

Help desperately needed, we need to book soon.

The Newport area of Jersey City is very nice. We stayed at the Doubletree Club Suites when e sailed on May 29. There is also a Marriott down the street. It was about a 15 minute drive from the port. Several places to eat. A block from the PATH train into Manhattan.

 

The port area is not very "friendly" looking.

There are alot of hotels by Newark Airport or you can check out the Seacaus (sp?) area. There are a lot of new hotels there and it is only 10 mins from the pier. I know there is an Embassy Suites and Hampton Inn there. I think a holiday inn also.

We have chosen Country Inn & Suites, easy to get to and good price (a little over $100US)
