Travel insurance

Its very hard since everyone will have different criteria, medical conditions and different risks. What turns out to be a good price for one passenger with one provider can end up being expensive for someone else.

As an example, my Mum at 77 is high risk. If we book a cruise we use the travel insurance comparison on moneysupermarket as it takes into account medical conditions whereas most online insurers wont provide a quote once you tick that you have any medical condition.

Since santander have just stopped reward account which includes insurance now need find another company.

Anyone recommend a company other than post office ? For the caribbean.

Thank you very much

:D

Should also add which ever one you pick ,make sure they will cover medi evac from a cruise ship. There was a discussion on one of the forums recently about insurance. Some people discovered their insurance would not cover them for such things. They only discovered this by reading the forum and then phoning their insurance company!!!!!

Whichever travel insurance company you book with, remember to specifically ask if they cover cruises, as I'm aware that some exclude cruises or will add on a charge.

There would be nothing worse than needing your insurance when on your cruise, and finding out you're not covered!

I also think we're not supposed to name specific travel insurance companies on here.

Try looking on the Martin Lewis web site they always have links to travel insurance cheap ones and also those that cover medical conditions. We get ours with our bank account now but previously found a good one through that site.

Just renewed ours £78 for one 52 yr old one 49 annual

World wide including US and Caribbean covers many existing

conditions ie Chlorestral which husband has and takes statins, Atlas Insurance underwritten by AXA. Any covers Cruise travel :)

We also use Atlas, never had a problem with them. Ours cost £60 Annual cover for a 42 and 44 yr old also worldwide. Used them for years.

Have you checked,as it's tied in with your bank, whether it covers medi evac from a cruise ship. Some of the bank ones don't. They may cover certain conditions, but some people did find that it did not cover the above.

I think it's the travel insurance thrown in free with a bank account that are the problem, we pay a monthly fee, but still works out much cheaper than taking out a policy and they cover medical conditions. It's a good deal for us.
