chm1219 Posted July 11, 2005 #1 Share Posted July 11, 2005 I've read a lot of posts by people who've been lucky enough to be upgraded by Princess. We're on CB Baja 10/15/05, I'd love to get a mini-suite -- courtesy of Princess, of course. How does one go about requesting this --- or is it up to Princess to swap passengers around to different cabin categories, based on demand? thanks!:)
PrincessAddict Posted July 11, 2005 #2 Share Posted July 11, 2005 Make sure that your TA have selected on your booking that you are willing to receive an upgrade..that is most important because if it's not then they will bypass you. Secondly the upgrade fairy works in mysterious ways. It is decided based on a composition of the following; 1. Past passenger loyalty on Princess, Elite, Platinum, Gold 2. Fare you paid 3. Time you made the booking 4. Oversold in your category, meaning they must move you to provide the space to another and they are willing to compensate you with an upgrade. 5. Passenger Relations Open Issue...e.g a serious complaint about previous cruise you have taken that goes unresolved. All of these items or any single one of them could help in getting you an upgrade but DOES NOT GUARANTEE ONE!
spongerob Posted July 11, 2005 #3 Share Posted July 11, 2005 Even more basic than all that, which can change with the winds anyway, is the availability of a cabin to upgrade into. You can also self-upgrade, particularly before final payments are made, if you see that minisuites are being sold for an attractive price. The ease of doing that depends on your agent. coiran Posted July 11, 2005 #4 Share Posted July 11, 2005 As spongerob says you can buy an upgrade - your chances of getting a free bump up to a minisuite are in the hands of the upgrade fairy - and - noone knows how he chooses the one to be upgraded.
