Carved mahogany

Last year, while visiting Antigua, I purchased a beautiful piece of carved mahogany from a shop in Nelson's Dockyard. We will be in Antigua in December, on board the Legend of the Seas, and I'd like to purchase another piece or two. However, I don't want to go all the way to ND. does anyone know if the carved mahogany can be purchased anywhere near the pier?

Thanks!

Linda

A good taxi driver may know local wood carvers. We admired some nice wooden bowls on our last cruise in Belize and mentioned it in passing to our tour/taxi driver in Roatan. He offered to take us to his friend that was a local wood-worker.

What really made me respond here is a warning. I bought a carved wooden elephant on Kuta Beach in Bali; he insisted on wrapping my purchase. However, it wasn't until I was home that I discovered he quickly switched and wrapped a different elephant with a missing tusk.

I figure I'll be an old man before I get back to Bali and the next woodcarver will wonder why this crazy old man is beating him with a cane.
