Best way to get to Atlantis?

Hey there all,

Our cruise is getting close (Dec 7 Disney Wonder) and so we are trying to find out the best way (most affordable but not necessarily cheapest) to get to Atlantis from the port. Disney was about $60/head and it looks like most of the good time slots are booked up. We will be in port from about 8 until 5.

Probably not going to do the waterpark at Atlantis as it's way to much plus with having stopped at Castaway Cay there is a waterpark there.

Thanks for any tips.

David

Taxi - can't really do or see anything there without some type of pass.

By Taxi I assume you mean a water taxi at the port?

I guess my follow up to that is, should we plan a long wait for the taxi's? And by pass, is that for Atlantis?

Thanks

David

Nope, a real taxi (you can take a water taxi, but reports here make it sound a little scary). There will be tons waiting for you at the pier (we had some fight over us last year).

You will not be allowed on the property at Atlantis without a pass (except casino) - aqua-adventure (waterpark), beach, or Digs (aquarium). Only the aqua-adventure will allow you to see the whole property. When we were there last week, the main beach was closed due to currents (they weren't letting people on the sand).

And would you recommend this over going through Disney to get to Atlantis?

Thanks

Just do the math (prices are on some threads here, and on Atlantis' website). It's usually cheaper to take a taxi to Atlantis and buy a pass there, although on our last cruise, aqua-adventure was actually cheaper going through the cruiseline ($99 including transportation instead of buying the pass there for $129). However, this was the first time I've seen it cheaper on the cruiseline - it's usually cheaper to buy it at Atlantis.

Do you know what pass you want?

Well we are probably not going to do the water park as I can't justify that much money. So we'll probably get the one that allows beach access and the aquarium. Disney is selling that one for 95.00/person. That includes transportation and lunch. We've got that booked currently in fact, but of course can cancel it.

we are also going in on the Wonder but not until January. We too were going to the Atlantis but have it booked through Disney, I think our includes everything for $169. Is it cheaper just to buy at the Atlantis (Im assuming) Its such a crazy port day I think there are 7 ships in port that day and we leave port at 330. I feel like its so much $ for just 6 hours or so at the park... Thoughts?
