just returned from oriana cruise and although not required to take passports ashore we found that pensioners get free entry to saville cathedral with i.d. also in Malaga we did take passports here the alcazar to british pensioners is 60 cents each also students get reductions all tariffs in all languagues are displayed inside and the man on the desk is helpful. we worth a visit lots to see

Any document showing your date of birth is acceptable - even a bus pass - so no need to risk carrying a Passport or Driving Licence. A limated copy of your passport or Driving Licence is also acceptable so you could get one made before you leave home.
