Honestly the ship is lovely. The only problems we had back in July was very slow service in the dining room and warm/cold food which I complained about and was put right. Plus a couple of buckets, which have now gone.;)

All public areas of the ship were lovely. Below deck everything was lovely and clean and looked new.

A cruise is what you make it.

Yes the upper decks were busy and crowded on sea days, but that happens on all ships.

Top tip in the buffet. Grab your food and then go to the back of the boat into the Havanna Bar and Ji,Ji's for a table. That is where the omelette stations are. Far less crowded here.

I would happily sail on the ship again.

1. Do you know if there are bands that play in the ocean plaza?

2. Do they play every night?

3. Rooms on the promanade are they loud ?

THanks Jen

I've found over the years that you have to actually read the reviews to determine if the complaints are valid or not. Some think their entire cruise was ruined because the room steward didn't make a towel animal on the second night of the cruise. Some think their cruise was ruined because a Carnival employee didn't smile at them when they boarded the first day. Still others think their world is coming to an end because some clown wore a hat in the MDR.

So, if you haven't already, read the reviews and find out if the low number of stars is based on a valid general complaint about the crew or ship or just based on some random experience the reviewer had that really doesn't matter to most.

I'm going on the April re-positioning cruise to Orlando and I'm planning and expecting a great cruise.

I have been trying to get answers on certain questions I have about the ship and all these people are doing is complaining. WHat is important to some people isn't to others. I have never heard so many people complain about food! There are so many options if you don't like something have something else! With that said can someone please answer some questions about the ship. I always have a good time no matter what the reviews are !

1. Are there bands in the ocean plaza or casino area?

2. Do they play every night?

3. Is there a band in the havana club ?

4. THe disco is it open every evening ?

5. Has anyone stayed on deck 8 and do you know if it is noisy? THe rooms are AFT .

THanks for your help as I have posted on other threads and haven't gotten the answers I need. these are the things that are important to me .

THe shows I never go see and I can always have pizza or a salad !

I LOVe CArnival !

Standing in food lines! I can't believe how many times I have read this. If people would just hold off to eat until the lines clear out there won't be a problem. There is plenty of food people!!! You won't starve. We always waited an hour after the stations opened and never had a problem. Sorry I didn't want to say this, but I have never seen so many big people on a cruise before that were standing in line waiting for the station to open and then pile their plates sooooo high the food was falling off the sides, like the ship was going to run out of food!!

As the OP we have made up our mind and are going to stay on the Sunshine, the kids really want the water features and ports this ship goes to.

Thanks to all.

I was in the Sunshine on a Med cruise last year with my husband and daughter we had a great time and we have booked a cruise on the Sunshine again for the July 5th sailing. There are a few minor issues for me with the food the food in the dining room wasn't hot enough for me but I like my food very hot and the food in the lido wasn't great but there are other great options for food it wasn't a problem. At sea days on deck it was busy in the morning but by 2 pm it was fine. The ship was lovely my daughter loved it. This was our first Carnival Cruise our previous one was with RCCL. Hope you have a great cruise

I read a lot of negative on Carnival website but have seen a lot of positive on this site. My family can't hardly wait to board her in 24 days!!! (Feb 2). As one person already responded many people tend to post negative comments quickly. But Positive comments frequently don't get posted. I will make sure to write a review and post it both here and on Carnival's site within a few days of returning home.

I can only answer one of the questions: There is no band in the casino. However right around the corner is the red frog pub and in there AND right outside there, were two musician locations.

I spent most of my time in the casino.

We too stopped going to the shows a few cruises ago. Just not our thing. I hear they've made them shorter but I'm sorry for the folks who did like them. We DO like the comedy and the room is way too small. But we always got a seat by going early. The first show we didn't go early enough and started to end up on the side where you watch it on a tv. I didn't want to do that, and was prepared to leave when I noticed a couple of seats back by the bar. We had to separate but that was ok. Every other show we got there early enough.

We DID do one show this time: Legends of Rock (iirc) and really loved it.

Sorry I cannot answer more of your questions.
