Mai Tai Guy Posted July 15, 2005 #1 Share Posted July 15, 2005 I have sailed on both Princess and Celebrity cruiselines and noticed that for the most part, all the pools on Celebrity have been saltwater and all the pools on Princess have been freshwater. Does anyone know if the pool on the Tahitian Princess is freshwater or saltwater? Thanks!
Mbouck1 Posted July 15, 2005 #2 Share Posted July 15, 2005 The water in the pools on all Princess ships are freshwater.
Mai Tai Guy Posted July 17, 2005 Author #3 Share Posted July 17, 2005 Thanks Mike! After swimming in the ocean, it's always nice to swim in freshwater! One of the reasons I prefer Princess cruise line is for the pools.:)
Dan and Liz Posted July 17, 2005 #4 Share Posted July 17, 2005 Are you sure it's freshwater. Princess said it was saltwater because it is such a small ship and was not originally a Princess ship.
Druke I Posted July 17, 2005 #5 Share Posted July 17, 2005 Did not go in the pool on her sister, Pacific Princess (new), but the hot tubs I believe were salt water. I doubt very much that Princess would have gone to the expense of replumbing the pools - if they were built saltwater, they probably still are. The two ships were obtained on a lease/purchase basis, and I don't believe the purchase has in fact been consumated, although the original lease (2 years) should have been up by now. kate8 Posted July 27, 2005 #6 Share Posted July 27, 2005 The pool on the TP was saltwater. We enjoyed it, but made sure to rinse off after a dip. Kathy

Druke - I wonder what the deal is here? Do you think they just extended the lease?
ajl111 Posted July 28, 2005 #8 Share Posted July 28, 2005 Tahitian Princess, definitely salt water. So was the Royal Princess last summer. Can't remember if the Regal Princess was salt water as well, but for some reason I think it was salt water too, but not 100% sure on that one.
