Club Royal Rebate Cash

Recommended Posts

I was approached by one of the casino hosts on Oasis last fall, and they encouraged me to email them when I cruise again, so I sent an email last week.

I received this email from Club Royale in advance of my Liberty cruise this month. Anyone have any experience with this? Do you really think they are going to give me "cash"? Or do you think they mean casino or on-board credit?

Dear XXXXXXX,

You have a casino rebate in the amount of $950.00 from your sailing onboard

the Oasis of the Seas on 8-31-13. It will be available for you as cash

onboard on the Liberty of the Seas on 1-23-13, when you arrive. Once the

casino opens, please take your photo ID to the Casino Cashier to claim your

cash.

I believe they will give you the $950 in cash. I thought I was getting a nice chunk back with my $650 on Independence in 2 weeks. The way I understood it is they can either apply it as a discount to your cruise cost, or you get it in cash from the cage.

Cash money in your hand. Just go to the casino cage, and they'll have you sign a receipt.

Also, if you're part of Club Royale, always call them first before you make a new reservation. More often that not, they can give you a better deal than you can get else where.

This is correct. I've had the cash rebates given to me as both payments toward my next cruise and as cash in full in the casino.

Sweet! Thanks for the info. I hadn't thought about booking through them because I have an agent friend who I book through using the Amex Platinum and get a lot of goodies that way.

Hypothetical, if I booked through them, would the better rate I get mean I wouldn't get the cash? Or are the two separate?

The two are separate. In fact, you can book with them, transfer it to your agent of choice and still get the rebate onboard.

If you don't book with them, you still need to notify them that you'll be onboard otherwise it can cause a delay in being able to pick up your cash. The ship has to receive the letter from the shoreside group and you have to sign that letter. If they haven't received notice from shoreside they have to email the shoreside group and they only work Monday - Friday.

And just so you know this isn't a one time deal. You can earn rebates whenever you play in the casino. And if you are a really loyal player, you can earn free cruises - they'll send you a list of optional cruises you qualify for (some Caribbean, some European) each year.

With a rebate around that amount, you probably qualify for one of the VIP slot tournament cruises. Then the cruise is comped, you only pay taxes, the casino also picks up the daily gratuities and you also get your rebate as cash ib hand in the casino. On my next sailing(one of the tournament cruises)I was given a D! balcony on the Freedom of the Seas for 114.00 per person(taxes) and I get 1400 in cash and my DH gets 975.00. So you shoud check into these cruises.:)

What do other people do with the points on the card i'm not sure I can handle any more keychains or poloshirts?

I just checked out ebay and people are trying to sell those keychains for $6.99 maybe I should get all my points in keychains and sell them on ebay to help recover some of my losses...

What is your bankroll? If you are getting $950 cash when you walk on you must be a high-roller.

We bring a couple hundred bucks each and play the penny machine or blackjack. The most I ever got was a pen and a hat.

I wouldn't consider myself a high-roller. But maybe I am for cruising- Definitely not for Vegas! I play blackjack, usually start at $25/hand, and play up to $100-250 per hand. I usually bet a little lower on the cruise because the games aren't as good. inconsistent players, less experienced dealers, I play more for fun on the cruise than when I'm in Vegas (also fun, be a bit more serious).

Congrats! My husband is part of the Players Club and he contacts the casino host before each cruise and there's always something waiting for him...the dollar amount varies, but on the last cruise it was around $350, so we'll take it. We only play slots, but bet max and we do enjoy the casino. Good luck winning big!

You can cash in your points for cash on the last night of the cruise. I think 500 points gets you $10 back. You can also cash in the points for specialty dining comps and a few other choices. They'll have a list of redemption options by the cashier.
