How rough is it cruising out of Tokyo in May?

We are considering a cruise from Tokyo to LA in May with one stop in Hawaii. If anyone has sailed out of Tokyo around this time of year we would appreciate hearing about your experience. I tend to get seasick but have enjoyed a Vancouver to Hawaii cruise in the Fall as well as a southern transatlantic crossing. I am wondering what the ocean on this route might be like in the spring. Thx in advance for any insights.

We have done the Pacific crossing 2 years ago at the end of April and it was quite smooth ! In fact it was smoother than most of the Atlantic crossings (6) we have done so far !
