cruises that go to Pompei and Herculanim ?

Our Mediterranean cruise did. The port was Naples. Trying to do Pompeii and Herculaneum on one day would really be a killer, however.

Any cruise stopping in Sorrento or Naples will work. Do plan on only seeing one or the other in a day as there is an enormous amount of things to see and getting from one place to the other takes time. Most of the best things are in the Naples Museum though.

Or Salerno port, but agree with others that both Pompeii and Herculaneum in one day would not do either site justice.

If you port in Naples and have a long port day you can do it easily. Just be sure you have a guide and transportation between the two. We used Rome in limo and were very pleased.

 

Ours was not a cruise stop. We had several days in Rome per cruise. We wanted to go to Pompeii and Herculaneum but our cruise did not stop there. We did a 12 hour private excursion with Rome in Limo. Even got over to Sorrento for a nice lunch.

 

But the two sites can be done in a day.

You could do the 2 sites in one day if you missed most of both. If I had to choose id do Herculaneum - as it is more interesting and ever so slightly less popular, I think it would be a mistake to try to do both but each to their own.
