Sunshine OR Breeze? I'm SO Indecisive.

First, thank you in advance for any insight or opinion..

It's greatly appreciated.

 

This will be my partner and I's third cruise on Carnival.

We have cruised the Dream (Western) and the Breeze (Eastern).

We are bringing our two best friends with us and they have never cruised before.

Their only two stipulations are.. we want Bahamas somewhere in the cruise and we want to have fun!

So, dates/itinerary/ship/price is all left up to me.

 

We currently have a 7 Day Eastern Caribbean cruise booked on the Sunshine for November 15.

After reading all the negative blogs/posts regarding the Sunshine I am wondering if we should (instead) book the 8 Day Eastern Caribbean cruise on the Breeze that leaves a week earlier (November 8).

 

My partner and I loved the Breeze when we cruised it. It was spacious, tons to do, etc.

Being our best friends first time, I want them to experience the biggest and the best since I've been talking Carnival up SO much and finally convinced them to go.. and part of me feels like it's the Breeze.

 

The extra day (7 compared to 8) does cost another $100pp for the same deck/cabin type, but is it worth it for an extra day on the Breeze?

 

We are mid 20's and like the drinking (respectfully), dancing, staying up late, big shows, etc. I've heard they are lacking a bit on the Sunshine.

 

Has anyone cruised both? Does anyone have an opinion/insight?

Should we switch, gain the extra day and cruise the BIG boat..

Or should we just stick with the smaller one for first timers?

The Sunshine is nice and is much better than some of the negative reviews, however, if you want Carnival's best, go with the Breeze. Yes an extra day at that cost, it is worth it.

I'd pick the Breeze. Reasonably priced extra day on a larger, newer ship. Breeze is new, not "new." Plus, you had such a wonderful time last time, why mess with success, especially since you're vouching for the experience bringing some newbies with you. Just my $.02.

I had the same dilemma, however, both of the cruises I was considering are 8 days.

 

Breeze from mia, going to San Juan, grand turk, st martin and st Thomas.

Sunshine from port Canaveral, going to Aruba, curacao and grand turk.

 

Looking at all footage on YouTube, both ships are nice.

 

For me it came down to itinerary. So I booked the Sunshine. Haven't been to any of these islands, plus 4 sea days which we love.

 

Whatever you choose enjoy.

I would go on the Breeze over the Sunshine. It's the newest ship, not just renovations like the Sunshine.
