Seaplane Vs. Helicopter

Hubby and I are looking into something in Ketchikan and were wondering if any of you would recommend one over the other?

I would recommend the Helicopter over the seaplane . The helicopters fly lower and slower than the seaplanes. The can even hover to see an interesting an interesting site.

It can be all about the pilot. I have pilots that I request and pilots I will not fly with.

 

Typically.......... a helicopter will cost more money pp but is able to fly with less visibility. But neither is going to fly with a thick low cloud ceiling.

 

The charter service I work with flies amphibs out of the airport but when I set up flightseeing trips for my visitors I make sure somewhere on the trip they'll get a water landing and takeoff. When a helicopter makes a water landing it's because ...... never mind.

 

I'd read the reccies for a good pilot, not the means of transportation.
