Hotels in New York and Orlando / Port Canaveral

Hi we have booked on Quantum's inaugural in November and are hoping to spend a couple of days in NY. Any suggestions for hotels, we will arrive at JFK from England. We are also hoping to go to Orlando /Port Canaveral for a few days when we return, so again any suggestions would be welcome as we have not been stayed in these areas before.
