1st time sailing on RCI, dining question?

Thanks to everyone for all the excellent information I have found here. We are very excited for our 1st RCI cruise!! I was wondering if someone could tell me what are the options for lunch on embarkation day on the Liberty of the Seas. Will there be lunch served in a dining room, or only the buffet? I like to avoid the chaos of the buffet if at all possible. I appreciate any info you can give me!

My experience on a number of other RCCL ships, which does not include the Liberty, is that the buffet is the only place open for lunch on embarkation day.

If you get on early enough, there's no major crowds. Or, eat a late breakfast, skip lunch, and have a snack later.

The dining room is unfortunately not only on embarkation day. The Windjammer is open, and is the only "real" restaurant available. However, Cafe Promenade and Sorrento's Pizza are both open on the Royal Promenade as well.

The Windjammer will be it for a meal. But, if you get on early or wait until after 1:00, it won't be as crowded.

This is the correct response for the Liberty. Cafe promenade has a selection of mini sandwiches and desserts. Sorrentos has Pizza, desserts, sandwiches and antipasti.
