Is This A Good Deal???

Recommended Posts

SO.....it took me 2 hours on hold, but.....after talking to a resolutions specialist we got the JS for only $200 more per person. Don't ask me how:confused: AND it included the $300 OBC. So JS for $1450pp with $300 OBC good deal? I hope so because after giving up almost 3 hours of my life to RC, I really don't want to call them back:rolleyes:

P.S. Mama Happy :D

I think you did great. Congratulations and enjoy your cruise - you've earned it now!

A good deal to one person may be overpriced for another. It's really a personal decision. We look for rates under $100/pp/per night as the base level we'd look at, and usually look for under $75 as a good deal, and under $50 as a great deal. Others may be perfectly comfortable paying $200 or $300 or more per night. If your comfortable with the price, then just go for it, and enjoy your cruise. Don't worry about whether other people think it's a good deal or not.

I don't know how many points you'll get from RCL, but you get a bunch of husband points from my POV for spending so much time planning your vacation. It's so unlike some DHs I could mention who let their DWs do all the planning and then pass derogatory comments about the choice of cabin, destinations chosen, etc. ;)

Hi Everyone,

I need advice from seasoned cruisers.....

This is only our second cruise and I'm trying to convince DW to upgrade, but I don't know if this is a good deal or not?

DW and I are currently in a Superior Ocean View with Balcony for a cruise this June on the Explorer. It is a 9 night Bermuda and Caribbean cruise. We got our stateroom for $1250 with a residents discount. I saw today that Junior Suits are going for $1800 with the residents discount and there is one available on the hump. I really want to jump on it, but DW is a little apprehensive, she would like to wait to see if the price goes down a little more.

My question for all of you is, is this a good deal? Should we expect the price to go down much more? Have any of you seen the price drop below $1500 for a JS (where DW would like to see it before we upgrade)?

Any and all opinions and advice will be welcomed and appreciated

Thanks!

If you book the JS and if the price goes down before final payment, you can ask for the new lower price. If you book the JSand the the price goes up you get to keep the old lower price. However, if you don't book the JS and the price goes up, you will not be able to ask for the old lower price.

If the ship is selling well, the price will only go up. If the ship is not selling well, the price will go down - assuming nobody decided to grab that JS before you. A JS on the hump is a prized cabin.

The Explorer is the same class as the Navigator. I had a hump balcony on the Navigator. Here are some pictures ...
