40yearcruiser Posted February 16, 2014 #1 Share Posted February 16, 2014 I have been looking for options for our day in Shanghai and came across the City Sightseeing HOHO bus. Anyone done this? It is much less expensive than the Blue Bus tour and seems to cover most of the same areas. We will be arriving on the Sapphire Princess and hope that there will be a shuttle available from the ship to the city where we can connect with the sightseeing bus. Would like to have feedback from anyone who had done this.
40yearcruiser Posted March 8, 2014 Author #2 Share Posted March 8, 2014 (edited) There have been no replies so I'm bringing it to the top of the list in hopes someone will have tried this sightseeing bus in Shanghai. diane.in.ny Posted March 8, 2014 #3 Share Posted March 8, 2014 When are you traveling? Friend of mine will be in Shanghai next month and is planning on doing the hop on hop off bus and I can report back on their experience.

Bear in mind that we are "walkers" and don't like to sit still, but we found it a great way to see as much as possible in limited time. We were on Sea Princess and docked very close which was a lovely surprise as we were scheduled to be miles away. From memory, it didn't cost us much. We stayed on board for the full loop to get a feel for the place, then when time allowed, we went around again and visited what appealed. We thought it was well worth doing. We just wished we had more time to do the twilight tour. Hope you enjoy it as much as we did. BTW, we would do it again!! Nicki
40yearcruiser Posted March 12, 2014 Author #5 Share Posted March 12, 2014 Thanks for the positive feedback. We will be there on the Sapphire Princess on April 25. Unfortunately, because of the height of the ship and a low bridge, from what I understand we will have to dock far out of the city instead of at the downtown port. Princess has not posted any information about providing a shuttle into the downtown area (for this or any other port on our cruise) so we are hoping that once onboard they will offer a shuttle service. We have been to Shanghai before on a land tour of China and have been to most of the places on the ship's tours so we thought the HOHO bus would give us a different perspective. We hope we can make it work out.
