The same people that opened S3, Yolo, Tarpon Bend are also opening an Italian place on Las Olas about a block north of Roccos. I'm so excited I can't stand it!

I'm guessing they are an independent restaurant company as opposed to being opened by the Hilton.

Yay!!! Do you mean west of Roccos?

Yes! I can't remember what the place used to be, it is just east of Gran Forno. It is on the corner of I think 13th and Las Olas. They've done some really cool things with the interiors and will definitely have sidewalk outside dining. I just found this: http://blogs.browardpalmbeach.com/cleanplatecharlie/2013/08/the_restaurant_people_behind_yolo_tarpon_bend_s3_plan_las_olas_meatball_concept.php

Depending on their happy hour, it could possibly pull me away from Sweet Nectar.

By the way, have you heard anything about BAO? It is where Wild East used to be. http://www.BAOLasOlas.com

That was Mancini's M Bar for about 2 months and was closed for a long time before that. It used to be an excellent Italian restaurant called Paesano's, and it was a gay bar back in the days when Las Olas was the gay hot spot. It was called Club Cathode Ray.

I haven't heard anything good or bad about BAO yet. I really liked Wild East although the service was a bit disorganized. It was really pretty and they had a fun Asian Tapas/Dim Sum menu.

If you are staying near Port Everglades pre cruise, Kelly's Landing on Cordova Road is excellent for New England style seafood. Small place but great food and Service.

Nearby in the Harbor Shoppes where Publix is, there's a small but wonderful Itailian place called Giuliano's is was formerly called Angelo's and the Sunshine trolly driver told us about it. Looks like an ordinary strip mall pizza joint but the veal marsala is to die for. No canned sauce here everything scratch made to order. Not fancy but great cheap Italian favorites and the pizza ain't bad either.

OMG went to BAO tonight (pronounced bow, like the bow of a boat), and the food was amazing! Dim sum, tapas, half priced cocktails from 4-7 and half priced small plates.
