Royal Caribbean...the "new" NCL

We used to request fixed dining on whatever cruise line we were sailing next. Tried out NCL late 00s and got used to Freestyle. Now we prefer it so on our Royal cruises we go with My Time (or whatever they call it since each line calls it something else it seems). We don't mind it at all. And we LOVE Quantum class ships.

Don't care if we have the same waiters every night. We like to try out various dinner venues.

I know this is an old thread but it was an interesting read, all the hysteria concerning the dining. We sailed this month, had MTD, we had trouble making reservations before sailing ( which seemed weird, because the point of MTD is deciding when you want to eat based on how you feel that day, but we were asked to make reservations for at least one night when signing up for MTD. The only thing available was 8:15pm, 8:45pm for all nights, which was way to late for us. We spoke to the very lovely and friendly hostesses outside the MTD restaurants, and they told us that they didn't have any available spots to reserve us a table earlier, but we should just show up and ask for a table whenever we wanted. That's what we did. And we never once had to wait for more than two minutes. (table of 4)

For those unaware, two dining rooms still do traditional service, 2 do mtd, and they all have the same menu.

And Sorrentos does not charge for their pizza. As bad as the pizza is, it's a bad value even free, lol.
