You guys are right on. No argument here. Drop the price to $299 and every homeless guy in Florida can afford to cruise.

Yeah, I'm sure a cruise it's the first thing on the wish list of the homeless.

That was a pretty ignorant statement. Neptuno- we get it. You did not like your cruise on MSC for various reasons and you have no intention of sailing with them in the near future. Why you are still trolling this boards posting all your negative comments every chance you get is beyond me. But to each their own in how they wish to spend their day.

As for me, yes I did take advantage of the employee pricing and got a great deal for my cruise. I was on the Poesia last year- loved it and when the prices for the Divina dropped I took advantage of it.

For myself, I will wear a dress in the MDR or perhaps dressy capris and classy top on casual nights. Will I look down at others in how they are dressed, no- not my style, I was brought up a little better than to judge people on what they choose to wear.

This is why I'm going on vacation

-I deserve a week off - especially after the winter we had.

-I want to explore new countries- we are very fortunate to be able to vacation in other countries and explore new cultures and way of life. Many people do not get that opportunity in life.

-Meet new people. Love hearing about other peoples travel experiences. Will give me ideas for my next trip.

- I don't have to cook, make my bed, clean my place, do dishes, go to work, answer the phone, respond to email for an entire week.

- I get to try new foods, drinks and wines that I may have not tried before.

-I get to watch amazing shows every night and be in total awe.

- Enjoy the countless venues for entertainment

So, if a homeless guy from Florida comes up and sits beside me, let me buy him a drink and have a conversation with him- because everyone has a story to tell.

Looking forward to my cruise on May 10th

Wow, well said!

All I know is that I am looking to get back on the Divina in September or October and doing the Western Caribbean route again!!! Within days, I will be joining the Roll Call board, once again!!!

Homeless or not, I'm heading back on the Divina. Just for Neptuno, this time I think I will book a balcony stateroom, because I can! I will name it My Neptuno Suite!!!

I spent most of my time in the public areas with the exception of the main dining rooms. I never did see ripped jeans. Although I was not checking out what other men were wearing. I did see a few baseball caps, but unlike me, many middle aged men were not blessed with a thick head of hair. I do know that some men that are balding are self conscious and are more comfortable covering up their scalp. I say, more power to them as I am not judgemental.

While walking down a hallway, I did get a few lookovers from some miserable old geezer in his, "weekend millionaire" attire. I was comfortable in my polo shirt and casual Izod shorts. I knew not to venture in the main dining areas dressed as I was.

Class is not defined by the label within his suit. Does it make him classier because he has a balcony stateroom and mine was $299 per person? Again, just a "weekend millionaire", There will always be cruise snobs on every boat. I will be sailing again in the fall and spring. I will be so happy and he will still be miserably judging people instead of enjoying himself.

I was glad to see that 90% of the passengers were European and although those Germans can consume alcohol, they were respectful and conducted themselves in an ever so orderly manner.

You must remember that Carnival, Royal Caribbean, Norwegian Cruise Lines, MSC, and many other cruiselines are filled with middle class people. Just remember that how you may or may not dress on "Gala Night" doesn't automatically grant you aristocratic status.

WOW!!! Really love your post! So straight and to point, really hit home about people being judgmental and the term "weekend millionaire" is awesome. You rock in my book.

Very well said!! It sounds like your mindset is similar to mine!! It doesn't take a very fancy experience for me to enjoy my cruise. Good food, good shows, interesting people!! Works for me!

Simple thoughts that 'some' don't practice,,,(our opinion)

1) Wash your hands after going to the bathroom, sorry to say but you'll see as many as 50% of people leaving a bathroom on a ship, in a casino, in a restaurant, in a mall, etc. without washing their hands! PIGS are everywhere!

2) MSC promo to families with 'kids sail free' means you'll see a lot more kids! Stay away from 'pools/outdoor bath tubs' filled with people/kids, of course you're more likely to get sick, on any ship, on any line! But kids aren't the only problem, its everyone who is a pig, and doesn't wash their hands!

Example: HAL, 'NOT' the most family friendly cruise line has the most CDC reported incidents of any cruise line in the last 10 years, (4x's more then Carnival) so there's a lot of old pigs not washing their hands either! Saying that, we've cruised HAL, never got sick!

3) Never touch any food in the buffet where the serving handle is laying in the food, that entire tray of food is contaminated! Never touch any buffet food that 'pig people' from the pool dripped pool water onto! It's like bath tub gravy on your food!

4) Try not to touch anything anyone else has touched! Obviously you can't do this 100%, but the 'less' you touch like hand rails, public pens/pencils, door handles, elevator buttons, etc., the better off you'll be! And if you touch anything the public has touched, don't put your hands near your face until after you wash them! This we practice everywhere, not just on ships! Remember the 50% figures of #1 when you touch something!

About the AC/humidity,,

Our experience, no ship AC will keep the 'average' person cool, especially in the humid hot Caribbean! It seems most are set to keep those sensitive to the cold comfortable! You can ask each ship's maint. dept. to come to your cabin, and turn your AC to high, which it usually isn't set on, We have done this many times on different lines, and there is a big difference!

On MSC, some of the moisture talk could also be the Divina's advertised energy conservation, AC not set high enough to save money/energy! I heard the lights automatically go off when you leave the room, maybe the AC shuts off too?!

3500 people in small confined places like on a ship always feel warm to us, its crowded, and sometimes uncomfortable, that's why we buy a balcony, it gives us a sense of getting away from it all when we want!:D

Just our thinking, our opinion, but then we've never gotten sick in 30 plus years of cruising either! Might we suggest you drink more alcoholic beverages in the future!:D

Very important and interesting " thoughts". I'll keep them in mind. Thank you
