I bet you go the speed limit ALL the time, NEVER "cheat" on your taxes, or take longer breaks at work.

i knew someone would say something like this... it would be the same as saying

for the rule breakers, I bet you break every speed limit ALL the time and Always 'cheat' on your taxes, and always take longer breaks. lets add always goes through red lights, always shoplifts, always steals...

Lets keep focused on the actual issue. its against the rules to share the cheer packages. too much sharing will cause the prices to go up (they have already increased). that affects everyone that wants to purchase it. so its against the rules, its wrong and it affects others...

That CERTAINLY means we have an opinion without people adding speeding and cheating on taxes and stuff... lets have a debate on the subject without losing site of the actual issue at hand please

no, you just took away where I wanted my emphasis...

if you want to be a school teacher, there are forums for that. If I capitalized something I might have had a reason and would prefer you not to think you know better. but if that's all you can contribute to the thread. it really proves my point

instead of concentrating on wrongly changing someones post, why not debate the subject unless changing someones post is all you want to do.

now if you decide you want to change something on this post, we will all know you really have nothing to say.

bless your heart

I think it should be 16 drinks, instead of 15.

I agree on the debate, everyone has their own opinions and they should be allowed to express them. Carnival charges an absurd amount of money for alcohol and I am sure someone will point out that in doing so we get cheaper fairs, however I do not see anything wrong with someone sharing the plan. If they are able to get away with it more power to them. I posted here a while back (obviously got deleted) but I have shared this package before. However, let me point out carnival made more money off me sharing then they would have normally. I am a big gambler and I get drinks for free in the Casino. Therefore I rarely buy drinks anywhere else. I will get one or two glasses of wine at most each dinner (and most nights I get a free bottle from the casino). And if it is a sea day maybe three beers at most on the lido deck. I "shared" the package with my fiance who gets just one glass of wine at dinner. Combine how much we previously spend vs what we spent the last cruise, Carnival made more money off us. So think about that!

Interesting to hear others' perspectives. You think they charge an absurd amount of money for drinks, and I think they're dirt cheap. I guess it all depends on where you're from. To mean, and absurd amount of money for drinks are the resorts in Hawaii, where a small frozen drink will cost you around $15. Average price of any drink (except beer) here in LA is $10-$12. So when I go on a cruise, I enjoy the lower cost of drinks.

ok, lets take it further, what about the people that share and DON'T spend money like you? how would you feel if they kept raising the price of cheers to try to recoup the money they feel they lost? They already raised the price once and I assume they saw what the average person used on the cheers program and saw that they had to raise them. You might not have a problem and its your right but I don't want the prices raised because of others cheating the system. If you look at it solely for yourself, it makes sense. if you look at it at its entirety that others will have to pay more because of people that cheat the system, then maybe it wont look as attractive to you to share.

If the quantity/savings isn't an issue, why would you purchase the drink card to begin with? Certainly you can pay for two or three glasses of wine for much cheaper than buying the package.

We gamble quite a bit too and also get the drinks are on us card. I don't feel that entitles me to anything beyond what the hosts and players club already gives me.

It's a good program for a good price. I wouldn't want it cancelled because people are too cheap to buy their own drinks/package.

You could always try boring ( and old) Celebrity where they not only have no limit on how many drinks you order per day, but also include it most of the time in all ocean view and up staterooms at no charge!

I really enjoy Carnival, but my recent Celebrity cruise was very lively and fun with most passengers having the drink package included.

Plus gratuity which brings it to almost $57 a day per person.

$57 per day/person equals about $800 for a one week cruise. Did I mention other lines now do this at no charge? BTW - I'm now booking my 5th Carnival cruise, mostly since I'm taking my ten year old.

I've had both the RCCL and NCL package. Both are the same price as Carnival but there is no limit on the number of drinks you can have. A very good deal on both and again, I would hate it if it were cancelled or changed due to people trying to cheat because they are too cheap to buy their own.

could you list some. besides Disney, I am curious to what lines. This article from Cruise Critic shows most if not all (except Disney) charge

I was specifically referring to celebrity who is routinely including the alcohol package in oceanview and balcony bookings. We were on the Celebrity Reflection 2 weeks ago and met many people who had chose to book Celebrity in large part because of this. It's the ship of the year, has only been out 16 months, and with all drinks included....it's actually more expensive to cruise on older ships of other lines.

so Celebrity does charge but at times will add it in as a perk on some sailings and some rooms.

Carnival should think about doing that as well... would definately be something to draw people in

No you can't share if one person in your cabin buys it then everyone over 21 has to buy it. They say it's cheaper to buy a pop card and buy ur hard liquor if that's what u drink from room service and mix ur drinks in a bubba mug.

Apology in advance - I'm new to cruising and have my first Carnival cruise coming up in May. However, it is my understanding that if one person in a cabin buys the Cheers card, all occupants of the same cabin must also buy the Cheers card. According to your post, it appears as though you and your finance were in separate cabins. I'm not calling you out or judging anyone's morals - I'm just looking for clairfication/confirmation for personal reasons. You see, I am on a Rx medication that advises against drinking alcholic beverages (doctor's orders), but my friend who is sharing my cabin is a big drinker, so I thought I'd have to buy the Cheers card too in order to avoid spoiling her fun.
