Carnival Spirit out of Sydney - September 25th

Recommended Posts

Planning on booking the 3 day sampler cruise with a bunch of friends (40's-60's) as our annual girls get-a-way long weekend :-)

We'll be flying in from NZ arriving Sydney 9am on the day of departure so that should be fine. The ship leave Sydney at 6.30pm.

What time will be allowed on board?

Also, what's the earliest we can drop off our luggage (and where??) as it would be nice to be able to wander around the city area and have lunch etc. before the cruise.

We get back early Sunday morning and fly out that night so somewhere to store our bags in Sydney for a few hours would be great - any ideas?

Thanks for your help.

you can drop off your bags after 8.30am so you'll be ok

if you go online and complete your check in anytime after 12 noon you can board....not sure where to store your luggage whilst waiting to go home

On Carnival Spirit I was amazed at how much entertainment and things happening they crammed into a 9 night cruise, could only imagine how much would be going on for a 3 nighter!

Once you have booked log onto the online check in and once everyone in your booking has completed it you get to select a 30 minute bracket time that suits you to check in when you print out your boarding pass. Best advice is to do it ASAP as the earlier time slots always fill up the quickest. Earliest time slot is 12-12:30.

You can drop your bags off from really early, but can't be specific as never been there more than an hour before check in began.

I'm thinking most hotels have baggage rooms, just depends though because you aren't a guest, maybe you could just pay them a fee?

Carnival Spirit offers a Sydney tour on the last day it was $49.99 and went to all the main sights around Sydney and then you get free time to spend at Bondi beach (3 hours total). One of the benefits though was that they looked after your baggage for throughout the day and at the end of the tour they would drop you off at the airport so it was basically a fancy airport transfer, might be something to consider :)

Thanks. The Sydney tour sounds like something to consider :-)

We did consider hiring a hotel room just for the day so we'd have a base to store luggage, have a shower etc.

Anyway, I'm sure it will be fun!!

There is luggage storage at Central Station at the country platforms end near where the entrance opens onto the main outdoor upper concourse near where the taxi rank is. The luggage room occupies the north west corner of the station.

You could then either take a cab or train to the airport. You can also catch a cab from the ship to the upper concourse taxi rank, enter the station, immediately turn left to find the luggage place. Very cheap btw.
