Need a good hotel pre-cruise and a place to park car

We won't have a car rental, so I cannot answer to that part of your question, but the two hotels that get the BEST reviews, are either the Intercontinental Miami, or the Holiday Inn, Port of Miami.

Not sure when you are cruising, but we are cruising early July, and was able to get the Intercontinental for $139 per night, on Expedia.

 

Did you try posting on the Ports of Call forum? You may have better luck there.

Cant say much about using a car rental, but I definatly agree on staying at the Intercontinental....! Beautiful hotel and close to everything

We always stay at the La Quinta East at the Miami airport. Decent rooms, passable breakfast, shuttle to pier and free parking. Been the about 7 times now. By far the best deal out there. Doesn't look like much from the outside but the rooms are nice.

We always stay at the La Quinta East at the Miami airport. Decent rooms, passable breakfast, shuttle to pier and free parking. Been the about 7 times now. By far the best deal out there. Doesn't look like much from the outside but the rooms are nice.

 

I just checked out of this hotel for my cruise last week...great deal. I paid $117 (AAA discount rate). They offer free parking for your car while you cruise, and free shuttle to the cruiseport. I thought the breakfast was very good. It was 5 minutes from airport and about 10 minutes or so to cruiseport in Miami. Room was very clean and very comfy beds. Front desk was very polite and accommodating (and it's a very very busy front desk as they cater to a lot of cruise people).
