Resturuants near the Ship

On the tender dock is Wet Lizard and Cate's Thirsty Pirate. Both serve some versions of food many associate with the Caribbean, like conch fritters, other seafood and meat pies, as well as their versions of more typical American cuisine.

If you venture outside the tender pier ( and many here will shudder at that because the cruise lines all say don't so you can use their excursions) hang a left and walk about 3-4 blocks up to the swing bridge on your left that crosses the inlet with the sailboats and water taxis. No either continue walking straight and before you get to the Caye Caulker Water Taxi, you'll come to Anna's Lunchbox, with good local Belizean dishes and fresh juices. Or on the opposite corner of the swing bridge and Queen Street, Nerie's, serving fresh local food, like conch stew and friendly conversation. None are expensive and both are frequented by locals.

If on reaching the swing bridge, you decide to cross over into downtown Belize City, the keep to your left and head down Albert Street to Bird's Isle. It's a more tourist oriented place that looks out on the harbor and has a nice deck/patio. They do serve some good local renditions of soup and coconut rice. And a delicious key lime pie.

What has become increasingly popular is all Belizean Cultures Cuisine at the BTL Park, this is located Seaside near the Ramada / Princess Casino.

3 minutes taxi from the pier, 10 minute walk along the shoreline from the pier.

Oh, that'd be a dandy place to try. You can "slip out" the far right entrance, turn right and have a nice walk along the promenade and take a gander at the Baron Bliss lighthouse (and read a bit on his interesting story). I think this place (BLT Park) got hammered by a hurricane in 2010. So recently renovated and reopened. Supposedly there are craft vendors there as well.
