sandycruzr Posted June 6, 2014 #1 Share Posted June 6, 2014 Hi, I am wondering if anyone has ever done a 1/2 day fishing charter in Sitka? WE are sailing on the Westerdam so our time in port is very limited but I have heard that King Salmon are plentiful in early July so we want to try this. I have found one company that will take us out but we need to find 2 other people to share the boat for July 2, 2014. I put a posting on our Roll Call but since only 8 people have signed in for that date I highly doubt I will find someone that way. Does anyone out there have any experience with this? Any recommendations or advice would be appreciated. Thanks, Sandy
Suzanne123 Posted June 6, 2014 #2 Share Posted June 6, 2014 Yes! We were on the Westerdam last May and spent the time in Sitka on a great fishing trip with Tadd. http://www.flyfishsitka.com/Classic_Casting_Adventures/Alaska_Fly_Fishing,_Southeast_Alaska_Fly_Fishing,_Sitka_Fly_Fishing,_Sitka_Freshwater_Fishing,_Tongass,_Salmon_Fly_Fishing,_Trout_Fly_Fishing.html He took us on his boat to a stream about 20 minutes from town. Too early for salmon , but we caught Dolly Varden. Loved it.
