Anan Creek Bear Viewing - Level of walking difficulty?

Our party of 6 are book in about 3 wks with Island Wings for the Anan Bear viewing trip. My daughter-in-law just had surgery last week after fracturing her tibia. She told her orthopedic dr about the upcoming trip and he suggested that she have surgery instead of just booting the injury so she will heal more easily. I don't know if she will be on crutches at this point or how mobile she will be. Can someone tell me just how difficult the pathway up to the observatory is? Is there any chance at all she would be able to go with us? I hate that she would be excluded from this excursion! She is young (24 yrs old) so hopefully she will heal quickly. Would she possibly be able to do this if she was able to walk with a boot or calf walking cast? :(

Walking isn't too far, but probably would be an issue with someone in a cast. The first point would be the ability to move away quickly from danger. Frankly 3 weeks after ortho surgery is not a lot of time. She'll need to consult with the helath care professional, what the limits are going to be.

There are rocks that she will have to climb over at the waterline. There are also rocks at the beginning of the trail. Finally, the trail has some uphill portions.

She needs to discuss this with the tour operator first who may not even allow her on the tour and then w her doctor.

Maybe she should even have her doctor call the tour operator but if the procedure is done in the US, this is hardly likely to happen.
