Places to eat near Miami Airport

Planning last minute trip on a budget- have cruise, flight, and now need hotel. Need room for 7/17 and thinking of trying to find hotel near airport. Are there any good places to eat near the airport? Sushi, chain, etc., doesn't matter. Thanks.

If you stay in the Blue Lagoon area there is a local strip mall within walking distance with a nice local Italian place (plus Chinese and a not so good Cuban option); a few blocks back toward the airport is the 94th Aero Squadron - steaks and seafood with a view of the runways.

 

A short cab ride away from MIA is the world famous Cuban restaurant Versailles. http://www.versaillesrestaurant.com/

when in Miami you DO want to go Cuban and Ver' would seem a good recommendation

 

however they have been living off reputation for quite some time

I LOVE the "La Carreta" sandwich, which is a basic Cuban PLUS some chorizo sausage . . .

 

with a side of fried plantains ...... bring ON the Malta . . .
