Giovanni's on the Allure

We're on the Allure on 10/5 and they just opened up specialty dining. We have a large group and wanted to reserve Giovanni's for embarkation lunch, but reserving for lunch doesn't seem to be an option on the Cruise Planner - the earliest reservations for any of the restaurants is 5pm.

 

Is there a way to reserve, or should be we just board and go directly to the restaurant and let them know we're going to have 20-25 people showing up around noon?

If you cannot reserve ahead of time, then going to the restaurant as soon as you board would be a good idea. You might find that if they cannot accommodate you at noon, they might be able to at say 1pm.

Perhaps that is a change, because a number of posters have mentioned how much they enjoyed lunch at Giovanni's on embarkation day. I believe this was Oasis and Allure. Don't recall any embarkation day lunch reports about other ships.

As of last August, Giovanni's Table was open on embarkation day from 12:00 to 1:30. I didn't go there, but that's what I see in my Cruise Compass.
