When do YOU book the ships port tours?

Recommended Posts

We rarely book excursions anymore but on a Panama Canal Cruise we did wait too long and the excursion we liked was sold out. We were stuck on board the ship with food, drink and dry clothes. As it turned out, since it is a rain forest...it rained...the ship hit the side of the lock. The ship was stopped for an hour while they examined the ship for damage. When we got to the pier, they had trouble docking the ship. The people that had shore excursions were wet, cold, and hungry anxiously waiting to board the ship!

Sometimes things just work out for the best!
