cajjgt Posted July 21, 2014 #1 Share Posted July 21, 2014 How does one get to this bar coming off of a cruise ship?
BVIArabella Posted July 21, 2014 #2 Share Posted July 21, 2014 Really depends on your port. Are you docking in Tortola or St. Thomas? Getting from Tortola to Soggy Dollar is easy. There are numerous excursions that travel to Josh Van Dyke when ships are in port. NCL has a ship excursion to White Bay and Soggy Dollar. Check your ship excursions at least you can do it worry free. From St. Thomas is a bit more tricky but I found numerous excursions to Soggy Dollar from St. Thomas. Make sure you get back in time. blue_water Posted July 21, 2014 #3 Share Posted July 21, 2014 (edited) Looks like you're the only ship in STT on Friday Feb 27 and you're there from 5AM - 8PM. So you're there long enough to do Jost but you'll need to hire a private charter, you can contact some of the smaller outfits listed under daysails at vinow dot com for availability. You will need a valid passport. There is a 45min ferry departing Red Hook at 8AM which you can easily make, but the return is at 3PM and you'd be pushing it to get back to the ship by 4:30. You would taxi to and from Red Hook, about 20 - 25 min each way but there could be more traffic on the return. But being the only ship in port it's almost doable! Cost is about $20pp roundtrip taxi to Red Hook, $90 roundtrip ferry + BVI entry/exit fees + $10pp roundtrip taxi from Great Harbor on Jost to White Bay and back. So at least $135pp via the taxi/ferry/taxi option. There are outfits that will take you there, check vinow dot com first, also try Dolphin water shuttle - http://www.dolphinshuttle.com/?gclid=CMHPjLKV178CFZJr7AodJkIATg Edited July 21, 2014 by blue_water
Rare Tak8 Posted July 22, 2014 #4 Share Posted July 22, 2014 I did Jost from St. Thomas a couple of years ago and used VIBE charters. They can handle 6 passengers on their powerboat.

Rare Tak8 Posted July 23, 2014 #6 Share Posted July 23, 2014 Check out their website for the mosat current prices, but I believe it was $600 plus passport fees. Tips are appreciated. They had a cooler with water and sodas. Lunch was on our own, but there were plenty of bars to get something to eat on Jost.
blue_water Posted July 23, 2014 #7 Share Posted July 23, 2014 OOPS - I had your port time reversed! :p You're there 8 - 5, and you'd get a few hours in White Bay with the transportation time and time in Great Harbor.
cajjgt Posted July 23, 2014 Author #8 Share Posted July 23, 2014 Thank you ALL for your replies, Just seems a bit to far away for me to do this venture this time around! Joanna:(
blue_water Posted July 24, 2014 #9 Share Posted July 24, 2014 Joanna yes it is a bit aggressive for a cruise stop. You can enjoy a great beach and lively vibe at Coki, and hit Paradise Point after for another fun spot with a view.
