cruiseelady Posted August 15, 2014 #1 Share Posted August 15, 2014 I have seen little huts where they do cheap massages right on Junkanoo beach. Has anyone ever tried it? I am just a little worried about my stuff getting stolen even if its right beside me.

hallsn3961 Posted September 30, 2014 #6 Share Posted September 30, 2014 When we went in July, my boyfriend specifically asked for a massage on the beach. They did not have someone when we were there. They said only sometimes their is one lady, but not every day.
Rare CruisinCrow Posted September 30, 2014 #7 Share Posted September 30, 2014 You might have better luck at Cabbage Beach. The last time we were there, there were 2 or 3 massage tents set up.

Is cabbage beach far and does it have calm waters? We are in port for a short time and I have an almost two year old.

I wouldn't recommend Cabbage Beach for a two year old (or anyone that is not a strong swimmer. there are other calm beaches, both free public beaches or day passes. Personally, I would never take my family to a beach that did not have a lifeguard.
Rare CruisinCrow Posted October 1, 2014 #10 Share Posted October 1, 2014 I wouldn't take small children to Cabbage Beach unless they were just going to play in the sand. Please see this thread: http://www.boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=2108562 Thanks! Pretty sure we will just visit Junkanoo then since it's close and calm waters. We won't be there long or else I would've tried going to blue lagoon since I hear it's calm there. Thanks for the tips!
SeaSoul Savannah Posted October 4, 2014 #12 Share Posted October 4, 2014 I was wondering the same thing. My daughter and I are going next week….hope to have an answer for you.
SeaSoul Savannah Posted October 19, 2014 #13 Share Posted October 19, 2014 Just returned from my cruise to Nassau. There is a little "shack" (Its actually a very nice wood slat building) next to Gloria's that offers massages starting at $25. I did not do this but saw people waiting outside for a massage. It was just one man giving the massages. There is room for only one person at a time in the little "shack" so I think your belongings would be safe. I thought the beach was tiny, but enjoyed the live music!! It had slight trash but would not call it dirty. I did not see any broken glass on the beach. The construction around the beach was a bit of a downer. It was a great way to spend the day and not spend much money! It was about a 15-20 min walk from cruise ship. Friendly locals but some were pushy. Beware of those allowing you to try on jewelry. If you wear it, its yours for a "donation". You are in for a hassle if you refuse. Bottle water along the way for sale for $1. This was very nice.
