Upsell from 8C cabin to Ocean suite on Splendor for $482

Got an upsell call for our 7-night Sep 13th New England sailing on the Splendor to change from my balcony cabin 7338 to Ocean Suite for $482. It is just my dh and I, wondering if it is worth it?

I think it depends on if you really want to try the suite and how much of a stretch it would be to pay the extra. I know my DH would probably do it for under $500, but I would probably pass.

I got upgraded for free from 8C to 8E, and was very pleased with that.

But almost $500 -- a lot if money, which would pay for excursions, steak house, Captain's Table, or even alcohol. It will almost pay for another cruise.

IMO, no.

Do a trial booking on-line. See how much the difference is between your cabin and a suite.

Then determine whether the offer makes sense to you.

I did that and the difference is about $1000, so made me think I was really getting a steal :).

Depends on how much time you expect to be in the room to enjoy it. For us, it's money wasted... we're always busy doing something or enjoying the sea air. Last time we took an OV and decided it was ok too if we wanted to pinch pennies.

 

$500 is more than the balcony is per person. I'd keep it for the next cruise.

Sounds like a good deal. If it's within your budget and it's something you would like to try, I say go for it. Suites are very nice.
