bigandlil Posted August 21, 2014 #1 Share Posted August 21, 2014 Is there a pool where lap swimming is available? If so, is it a pool with a mechanical device that creates a current to swim against as opposed to a longer pool? Thanks. Lil
OldSeaDog Posted August 21, 2014 #2 Share Posted August 21, 2014 The Golden has a swim against the current pool on deck 15 forward.
Corinda Posted August 21, 2014 #3 Share Posted August 21, 2014 ...yes they do but...I found that I swam faster than the current so kept hitting my head, never really got the hang of it. I did manage to do laps in the Neptune...but that was really early in the morning. The crew was highly amused :) On the plus side - I mastered my turns :)
catergirl Posted August 22, 2014 #4 Share Posted August 22, 2014 on our 31 day cruise on the golden around SA, it was out of order the whole cruise and we were told it had been for a while. I was also told that they aren't working on and off on other ships as well. so don't count on it!
Rare geoherb Posted August 22, 2014 #5 Share Posted August 22, 2014 I've found that the swim-against-the-current machines don't work very well some of the time. But I'm not a lap swimmer. I just like the feel of the current.
